A high quality late 19th century “Belle Époque”, French Louis XVI st. pedestal stand with one mechanical drawer. The stand has tapered square legs decorated by twisted spiral ormolu chutes and joined by an ‘X’ scrolled stretcher. The stretcher is decorated with foliate ormolu mounts and a central urn. At the apron is a drawer and leather fitted pull-out, and is decorated by impressive and highly chased ormolu mounts of cherubs playing with grape vines. The original marble top is fitted within a pierced ormolu gallery.
