An extraordinary and rare shape 18th century circa. 1710 Italian painted and parcel gilt freestanding console. This Veneto, Italy console is raised by impressive 'S' scrolled legs with large carved bellflowers and ending in hoof feet. . The apron has an elaborate arbalest shape and a centering leaf and two outer large 'c' scrolls. Above lays the original very thick fitted ‘Bleu Turquin’ which is bordered by a gilt moulded border. The entire painted frame has all original traces of polychrome. Exceptional quality
