An exceptional and grand scale French mid 19th century Louis XIV st., pair of andirons. The pair, with all original gilt, are raised by a rectangular base with supports. The front with a mask of Baccus amidst garlands of grapes and foliage. Each side is decorated by a lyre all below the top urn with acanthus leaves, shells and a central cabochon. The pair is finished with the eternal flame at the top. Length: 12" Depth: 7" Height: 27.5"
