A spectacular and important pair of Italian mid 19th century giltwood consoles with matching mirrors. The freestanding consoles are raised by ‘S scrolled legs joined by ‘X’ stretcher with an elaborate central urn and floral garlands. The legs have a draped design and tassels below the etched floral pattern on the apron. The mirrors with all original mirror plates each have a large richly carved open wing eagle clutching a central crest amidst floral draping garlands flanked by protruding drape-like accents.
