An exquisite French Louis XVI st. mid 19th century marble and ormolu clock, signed ‘Japy Frères’. The clock is raised by a rectangular white Carrara marble base with ormolu supports decorated by finely chased plaques of cherubs playing. On one side of the original white enamel dial is the eternal flame with a bow and arrows in their quiver. The other side has a lady embracing a young cherub, holding a garland of flowers. All original gilt. Length: 11" Depth: 5" Height: 13"
