A spectacular and richly decorated French mid 19th century Louis XV st. tulipwood and kingwood three drawer desk. The desk is raised by four slender, elegant cabriole legs with extensive and highly chased ormolu mounts which wrap around each leg. The arbalest shaped apron has large ‘S’ scrolled acanthus leaves below the quarter veneered drawers which are decorated by scrolled foliate designed handles. The top is fitted by a black leather bordered by kingwood and an ormolu gallery. Sensational quality. Length: 50" Depth: 29" Height: 29.5"
