An elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XV st. two drawer tulipwood commode with ormolu mounts and marble top. The bombee shaped commode is raised by slender cabriole legs and has a scalloped apron. The ‘sans traverse’ drawers have a central floral inlaid medallion bordered by scrolled designs of tulipwood and decorated by ‘S’ scrolled richly chased ormolu handles. The sides are decorated by a scrolled foliate design. At the top lays it original ‘Breche d’Alep’ moulded edge marble. All original hardware. Length: 30.5" Depth: 16.5" Height: 33.5"
