A stunning and most powerful pair of 18th century Louis XV period ormolu sconces. Each back plate is in the form of a martial trophy with helmets, arrows, drums and armor, above the tapered base ending in an acanthus leaf bottom finial. Each sconce has two leaf and husk cast ‘C’ scrolled arms with fluted candlecups. All original gilt. Length: 13.5" Depth: 7" Height: 18.5"
