A fanciful and elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and 'pate sur pate' porcelain plaque, desk lamp. The lamp is raised by a square base with 's' scrolled acanthus leaf ormolu mounts at each corner, and an intertwined foliate design on each side. Above are the porcelain plaques framed within an ormolu frame. Above is a draped cherub kneeling on grapevines. Above is the urn, previously for oil, below the candlecup. All original gilt.
