An impressive and very large scale French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu cartel clock, with all original gilt. The lower part has stunning tied acorn branches and above is a fanciful lattice design surrounded by a 'guilloche' shaped frieze. The white enamel Arabic and roman numeral dial is signed 'Maison Marquis, Langereau, Paris' and is flanked by important finely chased acanthus leaves. At the top is an attractive urn of prosperity with rich decorations of gadroon designs and a berried wreath Length: 17.5" Depth: 6.5" Height: 36.5"
