A high quality French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. satin and burnished ormolu and white Carrara marble clock with all original gilt. raised by impressive pawed feet, the scalloped apron is centered by a medallion shaped ormolu maiden profile flanked by a pierced berried branch designed frieze. The sides are decorated by impressive large lambrequin shaped drapery. Above is the exquisite enamel dial below a Bacchus mask amidst scrolling foliage. The sides are decorated by rich ormolu mounts of acanthus leaves and satyr masks. At The top are 4 urns of prosperity at each corner, an at the center two birds protecting their nest. Wonderful quality throughout.
