A high quality 19th century circa. 1880, French Louis XVI st desk, in tulipwood and kingwood, signed 'Escalier de Cristal, Paris. The desk is raised by four square tapered legs with ormolu sabots and ormolu bands at the top. The apron has a drop front drawer which enables the tulipwood herringbone designed folding top to open revealing a fitted brown leather writing surface with three faux drawers. The desk is finished on all sides. All original gilt and hardware.
