A sensational and important French 19th century Louis XV st. rosewood, tulipwood and ormolu desk, with all original gilt. Raised by cabriole legs with ormolu chutes at the top. The elegant scalloped apron has a central drawer flanked by pierced ormolu mounts and 2 larger fitted drawers with richly chased scrolling ormolu handles and keyholes. The sides are finished the same. The top has a thick ormolu moulded border surrounding a handsome tooled black leather top. Length: 30.5" Depth: 18.5" Height: 30.5"
