A spectacular and high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. white Carrara marble and ormolu cassolettes with all original gilt. the large square base raises the 'piedouche' shaped marble support which is surrounded by an ormolu berried laurel garland. Above is the impressive ovoidal marble urn with very attractive of ormolu pierced frieze, with a richly detailed pierced frieze of flowers and leaves. The cassolettes have large 's' scrolled ormolu handles and thick pierced ormolu border with elegant ormolu chains. At the top is a marble removable lid decorated by a large ormolu finial.
