A very attractive and unusual French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. Napoleon III period mahogany and brass filets dressing table/vanity desk with all original ormolu mounts. Raised by elegant tapering fluted legs with ormolu sabots and rings at the top below reeded ormolu plaques at each corner. The straight apron has a large pull out drawer with an ivory colored leather writing surface and fitted inkwells with a secret compartment underneath. Above are two most exquisite compartments with drawers on the left and drawer like designed door on the other side, below 'Breche D'Alep' marble top surrounded by impressive pierced ormolu gallery. At the center is a charming window case and it's original beveled mirror. Length: 33.5" Depth: 11.5" Height: 49"
