An extraordinary and large scale French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period malachite and ormolu centerpiece. The centerpiece is raised by a triangular malachite base with mottled concave sides and fine foliate ormolu topie shaped feet. At each side are striking, scrolled ormolu family crest shaped mounts with a sea shell cabochon in a satin and burnished finish. At the center are three most exquisitely chased charming winged putti, each displaying different and most captivating and joyous expressions. Joined by a richly chased swaging berried laurel garland, around the fabulously carved malachite bowl, through elegant ormolu rings. The bowl is also finished on the inside. — Read Less
