Bernard I van Risenburgh (c. 1660–1738) was a Dutch-born cabinetmaker who established a successful workshop in Paris, laying the foundation for one of the most renowned cabinetmaking dynasties of the 18th century. Known for his elegant designs and exceptional craftsmanship, his work reflected the transition from Baroque to Régence styles. Bernard I trained his son, Bernard II, who would go on to achieve even greater fame, ensuring the family’s lasting legacy in the history of French furniture.
