Eutrope Bouret

Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906) Born is Paris, Bouret was a renowned French sculptor. Best known for his Neo-Classical bronze pieces, he focused on historic themes and mythology while incorporating external materials and devices such as marble, plaster and terracotta. He studied under the French decorative sculptor Louis-Charles-Hippolyte Buhot. Bouret was very successful and besides exhibiting regualry at the Paris Salon he was commissioned to sculpt the tombstone bust of the popular French novelist and fellow bronze sculptor, Alexis Bouvier.
