An exquisite and high quality French 19th century Louis XV st. Belle Époque Period Mahogany and Ormolu side table/desk, attributed to Paul Sormani. This stunning table is raised by slender cabriole legs with fine foliate wrap around sabots and hoof feet with elegant Ormolu chutes which lead up to striking richly chased corner mounts of rams heads. Beautiful intricately detailed pierced Ormolu mounts extend along each carved recessed side, each displaying elegant and most decorative scrolled rinceau shaped movements, charming rams, and opulent cornucopias centering a mask of Bacchus. The front showcases one concealed drawer which opens to reveal the signature. Above is an exceptional parquetry top with fine contrasting cube designs which showcase the beautiful wood grain, all framed within a mottled Ormolu gallery. — Read Less
