An elegant and very high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Mahogany, ormolu and Brèche d'Alep marble side table after a model by Jean-Henri Riesener attributed to François Linke. The circular one drawer side table is raised by circular tapered fluted legs with fine mottled topie shaped fitted ormolu sabots, lovely fitted foliate ormolu chandelles, and mottled foliate top caps. Above each leg are charming intricately detailed pierced ormolu reserves of blooming flowers tied with a ribbon flanking the frieze which is decorated with stunning pierced foliate scrolled Rinceau shaped ormolu movements centering an exquisite cornucopia with richly chased acanthus leaves in a superb satin and burnished finish with a single drawer at one side. Above is the original fitted Brèche d'Alep marble top framed within an elegant pierced wrap around ormolu gallery.
François Linke (1855-1946) Renowned 19th Century Parisian Ébéniste. Linke created historical interpretations of Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. He displayed at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1900 where he received a gold medal. — Read Less
