A sensational and extremely high quality French 18th century Louis XVI period dessert console, signed Pafrat. The console is raised by handsome fluted tapered legs with brass filettes and ormolu bands. The bottom frieze with a foliate acorn ormolu band and rosettes above the legs. Above are three elaborately decorated drawers with ormolu bands, beads and exquisite sunflower handles with laurel wreath pulls. on each side are two mirrored tiers with pierced ormolu galleries. The top frieze has impressive ram heads amidst a scrolled floral ormolu band with a central bow. At the top lays the original thick marble. All original gilt throughout. — Read Less
