A wonderful and most charming Anglo-Indian 19th century black patinated, Bone and Oak box. This lovely rectangular box is supported on four squared feet in each corner. The front side of the box is decorated with patinated black designs of a paneled structure surrounded by fencing, trees, and symmetrical rectangular designs with rosettes within. In the center of the front is the keyhole escutcheon with its key. Both sides of the box showcase additional wonderfully painted trees and rectangular shapes containing rosette patterns within. The roof above is decorated as such with the patinated black patterns imitating shingles with scrolling foliate designs on the outer edge. In the center of the peak of the roof is a checkered patterned chimney. The roof opens with its original hardware to reveal its Oak wood interior. — Read Less
