Philippe POITEVIN (1831-1907) was a renowned French sculptor. Poitevin was a pupil of Joseph Marius Ramus and Armand Toussaint. His work was displayed at the Salon of 1855. He worked for the Palais Longchamp and created a bust of Maximin-Dominique Consolat. Poitevin’s work also adorns the façade of the Palais des Arts in Marseille with the bust of Sesostris to represent the art of ancient Egypt.
