An impressive and high quality French 19th century Louis XIV st. Napoleon III period ebony, brass and ormolu, four door, two drawer Deux-Corps cabinet. The cabinet is raised by a scalloped shaped base with fine brass inlaid fillets and ormolu rosettes with a central richly chased pierced palmette. The bottom doors are decorated with exceptional and extremely decorative interlocking brass fillets which are mirrored on each door. At the center is a richly chased beautiful female mask and two finely detailed rosettes. The pierced foliate keyhole escutcheons display a lovely eternal flame design and the doors open to reveal the original hardware and one adjustable shelf. The two drawers above are decorated by a central ormolu mask keyhole escutcheon centered by brass fillets and flanked by charming foliate ormolu mounts. The pair of doors above display an elegant gilt metal chicken wire front and are decorated in the same manner, with finely detailed ormolu mounts and brass fillets, which are repeated at the sides within a striking diamond shape. The top crown displays a mottled edge with decorative brass accent bands. — Read Less
