A stunning and most unique French 19th century Louis XV st. Belle Époque period Kingwood, Mahogany and ormolu desk signed by François Linke. The desk is raised by elegant cabriole legs with handsome paw feet with acanthus leaves and fine chutes leading up each leg to richly chased foliate corner mounts in a warm satin and burnished finish. The scallop shaped apron displays one drawer at the front decorated with an impressive and most decorative ormolu plaque with interlocking geometric designs with the same plaque repeated at the back. Each side displays beautiful wonderfully executed cube designed parquetry also repeated at the top and framed within an exceptional wrap around fluted band seemingly tied with distinctive X shaped ormolu mounts. — Read Less
