A charming and most elegant French 19th century Louis XV st. kingwood, tulipwood and ormolu side table. The table is raised by slender cabriole legs with fine fitted ormolu sabots and chutes leading up to richly chased foliate corner mounts. A lovely fillet extends along the border of each leg and along the arbalest shaped frieze. At the center are two drawers 'sans traverse' (without crossbar) showcasing the cabinet makers' high level of skill and each displaying foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons. A beautiful wonderfully executed inlaid design of flowers in a charming urn extend across the drawers and repeated at the sides and back. Above is an elegant pullout out with a fine ormolu pull retaining its original gold tooled fitted leather writing surface. The top displays an additional beautiful finely inlaid marquetry urn with flowers framed within a mottled ormolu gallery. — Read Less
