An exquisite and extremely high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period ormolu and Rouge Griotte marble urn attributed to Ferdinand Barbedienne. The urn is raised by a square Rouge Griotte marble base with an elegant wrap around ormolu band with a fine reeded design. The impressive and uniquely shaped body displays superb mottled designs encased with striking richly chased foliate and palmette ormolu mounts with stunning intricately detailed rams heads at each side in a rich satin and burnished finish. The lightly curved top displays a most decorative shape adorned with a unique foliate and reeded wrap around ormolu band. — Read Less
