A sensational and most important French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period ormolu and Sèvres porcelain centerpiece, signed "Paillard France". The centerpiece is raised by a stunning and wonderfully executed base with a striking central family crest and fleur de lys flanked by intricately detailed swaging floral garlands leading to richly chased beautiful maidens at each side. The finely hand painted Sèvres porcelain bowl depicts lovely maidens dressed in period attire sitting under a tree while playing musical instruments and framed within fine scrolled gold tooled movements. Large superb scrolled handles lead up each side and are adorned with richly chased acanthus leaves and draped in a floral garland which extends along the reeded ormolu rim. Centered at the rim is an impressive pierced Fleur de Lys reserve in a beautiful rich satin and burnished finish. All original gilt throughout. — Read Less
