A stunning and extremely high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. flamed mahogany, ormolu, Fleur de Pêcher, and white Carrara marble buffet, attributed to Henry Dasson. The one door, three drawer buffet is raised by elegant circular tapered feet with large impressive finely detailed fitted acanthus leaf sabots and a lovely wrap around foliate band. A beautiful Coeur de Rai designed mottled ormolu band extends along the apron below most decorative swaging tied fabric garland designs. The central door is decorated with exceptional richly chased ormolu mounts of books and musical instruments amidst floral and superb scrolled Rinceau shaped foliate movements in an outstanding satin and burnished finish, and all framed within a Coeur de Rai band. The door displays a fine foliate keyhole escutcheon and opens to reveal one shelf and is flanked by fluted columns with fitted brass backgrounds, delicate foliate chandelles, and large acanthus leaves above. The sides each display two open shelves with their original mirrored backgrounds and fitted Fleur de Pêcher marbles framed within a remarkable pierced baluster shaped ormolu gallery. The frieze displays three drawers each decorated with a stunning array or pierced scrolled Rinceaux scrolls. Above a lovely Les Oves ormolu band is the original white Carrara marble top with a fine mottled border. — Read Less
