A striking and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated, giltwood and brass display vitrine cabinet. The vitrine is raised by fine topie shaped feet with lovely palmette carvings below the circular tapered fluted legs with block rosette reserves, finely carved foliate chandelles and superb acanthus leaf top caps. Each leg is connected by a beautifully curved stretcher with a central pierced circular reserve with a fine mottled gilt border with beaded elements. The straight apron is decorated with a striking interlocking Greek key designed band with elegant richly carved rosettes framed within fine mottled giltwood fillets with an exceptional wrap around foliate band at the top. The display vitrine top displays a mottled brass border throughout framing all the original glass panes with a door at each side retaining all their original hardware and which opens to give access to two adjustable glass shelves with the original mirrored background and bottom pane as the top glass. — Read Less
