A striking pair of French early 19th century 1st Empire period flamed Mahogany, ormolu, and white Carrara marble buffets. Each two door, one drawer buffet is raised by elegantly rounded feet below impressive architectural columns displaying ormolu plinths and capitals with finely chased spiraled and lattice patterns. At the center are two doors showcasing the stunning flamed Mahogany grains with fine pierced palmette designed ormolu escutcheons and which open to reveal one adjustable shelf and all original hardware. Above the single drawer is centered by a charming and most decorative ormolu plaque of Cupid in a chariot pulled by Psyche depicted as butterflies amidst clouds in a warm satin and burnished finish. Flanking the drawer are charming cherubs holding arrows and staff while dancing. Above are the original white Carrara marble tops. All original gilt throughout. — Read Less
