A stunning French 19th century Neo-Classical st. ormolu and patinated bronze torchière floor lamp. The torchière is raised by a striking triangular base with concave sides, handsome paw feet, and a fine wrap around foliate ormolu band. Each side displays a recessed fitted patinated bronze plaque with most decorative ormolu stars while each corner displays charming richly chased cherubs amidst grapes and grape leaves. Above the socle shaped foliate support is the most elegant baluster shaped central fut with fine fluted designs with intricately detailed fitted chandelles and large acanthus leaves. Above is a scrolled capital like design with a striking and most elegant urn shaped top with fine reeded designs, lovely palmettes and wrap around berried laurel bands. The girandole shaped lamp above is raised by a beautiful foliate base and displays elegantly scrolled arms adorned in a striking array of cut crystal pendants.
