An exceptional pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. patinated bronze and ormolu candelabras. Each five arm candelabra is raised by a most decorative octagonal base below the patinated bronze circular central support decorated with a striking pierced berried laurel wreath and lyre ormolu reserve, and a mottled wrap around grape cluster and foliate band. Above a luxuriant wrap around foliate ormolu band are the beautiful patinated bronze winged maidens standing on a ball while draped in wonderfully executed flowing garments and holding up a woven basket. The five arms and single staff are seemingly growing out of the basket with each arm displaying superb scrolled Rinceau foliate designs with intricate attention to detail and adorned with large acanthus leaves leading to striking foliate candle cups while the staff at the back displays a fine tapered design and top acorn finial.
