A stunning a most unique pair of French and Asian collaboration 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period blue glazed porcelain and ormolu lidded urns. Each urn is raised by an elegant square ormolu base with cut corners and lovely fitted interlocking geometric patterns at the front, back and sides. The mottled supports display most decorative wrap around twisted rope designs and finely detailed palmettes encasing the bodies. The superb and elegantly shaped blue porcelain bodies display fine wrap around Coeur de Rai bands at the tops leading to the beautiful lids with richly chased central acorn finials flanked by lovely scrolled designs. The lids open in a most unique manner as one of the scrolled designs unlatches to release the lid that flaps open held by a hinge. — Read Less
