A magnificent and large scale Italian 18th century Baroque period giltwood, ormolu and Alabastro Cotognino Venato marble freestanding console. The most impressive console is raised by elegant scrolled acanthus leaf feet below the powerful scrolled legs with richly carved flowers and mottled movements. The legs are connected by most decorative stretchers with beautiful scrolled designs and carved foliate motifs. The frieze displays delicate pierced designs with luxuriant floral and foliate movements which extend along each side and are centered at the front by striking reserves. Above is the original stunning butterfly veneered Alabastro Cotognino Venato marble top will beautiful scalloped shapes and exceptional and unique ormolu bands with intricate intertwined twisted robe designs.
