A spectacular and most impressive pair of Italian early 19th century giltwood and white Carrara marble consoles from the Lombardi region. Each high quality freestanding console is raised by four handsome richly carved paw feet below the spectacular scrolled legs adorned with beautiful acanthus leaves, fine grape leaves, and grape clusters at each corner. Each leg is connected by a bottom giltwood tier with exceptional etched scrolled foliate designs in a rich satin and burnished finish. Above each leg are superb large scrolled elements flanking the impressive scalloped frieze centered by a remarkable mask amidst additional scrolled foliate movements and with blooming flowers at the sides. Above a double mottled giltwood band are the original white Carrara marble tops. All original gilt throughout. — Read Less
