A stunning and extremely decorative true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period onyx and ormolu vases, likely by Auguste Moreau. Each vase is raised by a square ormolu base with a lovely mottled border and onyx support. Charming richly chased cherubs hang from each of the socle shaped pedestal supports draped in a swaging fabric garland and holding a bow and a staff. The elegant baluster shaped onyx bodies are decorated with beautiful central cabochon reserves with draped fabrics flanked by richly chased oak leaves in a striking satin and burnished finish. Scrolled handles lead up each side centering the lightly curved ormolu neck. — Read Less
