A stunning and most impressive Italian 19th century Renaissance st. white Carrara marble planter. The freestanding planter is raised by an elegant rectangular base with a fine wrap around mottled foliate band and a beautiful elegantly curved design. The tapered central support displays a superb draped garland of hanging berries tied with fine flowing ribbons set on a recessed background. Above a striking tied swaging berried laurel garland is the rectangular planter with stunning intricately detailed scenes of charming cherubs harvesting grapes and picking blooming flowers with the help of a goat and with impressive finely detailed lion heads at each side.
