A very handsome and most impressive Italian 19th century Serpentine marble pedestal. This large scale pedestal is raised by an octagonal base with a socle shaped circular plinth above. The top of the socle is decorated with wonderful wrap around gadroon designs. The circular smooth shaft displays mottled bands at the base and above. The socle above serves as the capital and introduces the oval shaped display shelf. The rotating oval shaped display shelf showcases mottled edges and a beautiful finish throughout.
