A beautiful and very high quality Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue of a young boy reading a book. The statue is raised by a circular mottled base with lovely ground like designs and fine sculpted blooming flowers. The young boy is sitting on a bollard dressed in wonderfully executed period attire with a flowing coat, charming shoes tied in a bow and a hat with richly sculpted curly hair.
