A spectacular and most impressive pair of French 19th Century Louis XIII st. walnut buffets with their matching mirrors depicting the four seasons. Each buffet is raised by bun feet below an elegant carved floral band. At the center of each buffet are two doors decorated with stunning finely detailed carved panels of luxuriant foliage, flowers and wheat. The doors open to reveal all of their original hardware and one adjustable shelf with an elegant carved floral front. Striking spiral columns lead up each side with intricately detailed handsome roaring lions and richly carved foliate corner carvings. At the frieze are two drawers with additional detailed foliate designs and center carved lion masks. Above the gadroon carved band are the solid walnut tops showcasing the warm walnut grain. The original mirrors above retain all of their original mirror plates arranged in square and rectangular patters with fine richly chased ormolu rosettes. Additional most decorative spiral columns with handsome roaring lions extend up each side leading to the charming and finely detailed carved top crowns with lovely oak leaves and acorns centering woven baskets filled of blooming flowers.
