A fabulous and very unique French 19th century Louis XV st. Meissen porcelain and ormolu clock, signed Meissen. The high quality clock is raised by a stunning pierced ormolu base with richly chased scrolled pierced designs in an impressive satin and burnished finish. At the center are a handsome and most impressive pair of guinea fowl perched at each side with a beautiful wonderfully executed gilt metal tree growing behind them. The tree displays most decorative gilt metal branches with charming leaves and stunning Meissen porcelain flowers with superb vivid colors and porcelain figurines of a man playing the bagpipes to a lady while they are both seated on the branches. The clock face above displays an enameled dial with Roman numerals and pieced foliate hands framed within a lovely etched wave design and retaining its original hand blown glass cover. The clock is encased by stunning luxuriant scrolled ormolu movements with additional superb Meissen porcelain flowers seemingly growing out of the top. All original gilt throughout. — Read Less
