An extremely elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XV st. tulipwood and ormolu side table. The table is raised by slender elegantly curved tapered legs ending in fine fitted foliate ormolu sabots with striking intricately detailed fillets that lead up to stunning richly chased pierced foliate corner mounts. The lovely ormolu fillets also run up each leg and along the arbalest shaped apron at the front, back and along each side. Each side is centered by an impressive richly chased foliate mount with exceptional scrolled foliate designs centered by a male mask with feathers in his hair. One side displays a drawer. Above is the original burgundy colored gold tooled fitted leather writing surface framed within an elegant wonderfully executed veneered tulipwood border and finished with a wrap around finely detailed foliate ormolu gallery. — Read Less
