A stunning and unique pair of French 19th century Renaissance st. patinated bronze and ormolu ewers. Each ewer is raised by a square Black Antico marble base below the ormolu socle pedestal with a chased foliate band and a twisted fluted pattern. The ormolu body of the ewer is encased by stunning, detailed and richly chased pierced bronze movements of dolphins, satyr masks, and swaging floral garlands. On each side is a patinated bronze richly scrolled handle topped by an outstanding elegant winged maiden. The ormolu spout, also finished on the inside, has an attractive shaped and displays a richly chased bearded mask underneath. — Read Less
