A handsome French early 19th century 1st Empire period patinated bronze and ormolu inkwell, circa 1805. The square inkwell displays a patinated bronze base with a lovely stepped design. The square ormolu body displays a quill hole at each corner and a beautiful circular wrap around beaded band. At the center are all the original removable components including the porcelain insert with a fine gilded lip and the ormolu and patinated bronze pounce holders. All original gilt and rich patina throughout. — Read Less
