A very handsome French turn of the century gilt metal five light lantern by Maison Ramsay. The scrolled gilt metal frame, with curved glass, is decorated with scrolled gilt metal mounts on the outside. The central fut that connects to the top crown and has five S scrolled arms ending in bobeches. At the top are four decorative gilt metal designs joining the lantern to the canopy. Maison Ramsay was a French design house in the early twentieth century who created very decorative and stylish designs during this period. Maison Ramsay produced furniture and lighting, using a unique combination of materials and techniques, making their designs easily identifiable. Materials used included wonderful gilt wrought ironwork, deep colored lacquers on wood and glass surfaces. — Read Less
