A most handsome Italian 18th century walnut and fruitwood commode, from the Piedmont region. The commode is raised by fine lightly scrolled supports below the straight frieze. At the center are four drawers each decorated with wonderful fruitwood inlays in beautiful geometric patterns with impressive scrolled foliate wrought iron pulls and brass keyhole escutcheons. Each side panel displays a striking and most decorative inlaid sunburst star design set on a beautiful walnut background.
