  • Theodore Deck (1823-1891) was a renowned ceramist born in Guebwiller, France. His vocation revealed itself during a trip to Switzerland. No one knows how he made it and he first applied it to his Iznik-inspired pottery. He also used it to emulate Chinese monochrome wares, making the turquoise glaze itself the primary focus.
