An extremely elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. kingwood, tulipwood, charmwood and ormolu side table, possibly by Krieger. The table is raised by fine square tapered legs with square wrap around ormolu sabots and decorative inlaid patterns with a foliate ormolu mount and top cap. The legs are joined by a circular and extremely decorative bottom tier with impressive parquetry and an exquisite pierced ormolu gallery with a Greek key design. At the frieze is one drawer with its original hardware and a richly chased berried laurel keyhole escutcheon in a satin and burnished finish, set on a fine inlaid background and framed in an egg and dart ormolu border. Each of the panels are decorated in the same manner. Above is the original Bleu Turquin fitted marble top with the same striking pierced ormolu gallery. With all original gilt. Maison Krieger was founded by Antoine and Nicolas Krieger in Paris in 1826.
